Casement Windows
Professional Window Installation Company Long Island
Maximize Beauty, Performance, and Security
If you’re looking for a larger and more secure window, casement windows might be the right choice. Casement windows are the windows that use a crank to open outwards. They can crank open outward to the left or right, allowing for full top-to-bottom ventilation. Casement windows can be pretty big, allowing for bright sunlight to shine in. We’ve installed some casement windows up to 8 feet tall! This is because they don’t have any dividers, allowing for large and unobscured views.
Where To Use Casement Windows
We install casements most frequently in the kitchen area, especially above the sink. Due to the ease to open and allow air both in and out, casement windows offer great ventilation. However, because the windows are so large you can use them in many other rooms. Casement windows can go in living rooms, family rooms, and bedrooms. The only limitations would be size, obstructions outdoors (when cranked out), and aesthetics.
Why Casement Windows?
Casement windows are beautiful, secure, and provide great ventilation. The security comes from the locking mechanism. The hardware of casements and the hook-shaped lock inside the frame prevent outside manipulation. Also, once you crank the windows closed, it creates an extremely firm seal. For improved and added ventilation, these windows are some of the best. The window can open up to 90°, allowing for complete airflow.

Frequently Asked Questions About Casement Windows
Can I Install Screens On Casement Windows?
Yes, you can absolutely install screens on casement windows! However, there are some downsides. The cons are that the mesh screen needs to be placed inside, unlike other windows. These screens can also limit sunlight, but there are products a little more expensive that solve this issue. If you’re worried about debris or bugs, then we can most defiantly install casement window screens.
When Should I Replace My Windows?
If you’re windows are 25 years or older, stuck, damaged, or leaking air, it may be time to replace them. And in most cases, you should replace them all at once. They were all installed at the same time, so over time they will develop the same problems. New windows can cut energy costs down by a third, and are simply beautiful. An added benefit is a return on investment. If you go to sell your home, you’ll see a MINIMUM of 60-80% of the value of the windows returned.
Can The Wind Damage Casement Windows?
Unfortunately, the short answer is yes. If the windows are left open and the wind is extremely strong, it’s possible for them to be torn off. If you can avoid keeping them open during raging winds, then with proper installation there shouldn’t be any problems.
